Kick It Up is more than just a dance intensive—it’s a transformative experience that will challenge, inspire, and equip dancers with the tools they need to excel in the world of precision dance.

We’ve got 3 levels:

  • Junior-ettes: Ages 6-8 (2 hrs per day)

  • Juniors: Ages 9-12 (3-4 hrs per day)

  • Seniors: Ages 12+ (6 hrs per day)

Kick It Up: Precision Dance Intensive

Kick It Up is an elite five-day precision dance intensive designed for dancers looking to refine their skills in tap, jazz, and ballet while immersing themselves in the renowned style of precision dance. With 30 hours of rigorous training, this program provides an exceptional opportunity to learn the signature precision techniques made famous by the world-renowned Radio City Rockettes.

Under the direction of Cheryl Cutlip—former Rockette and assistant choreographer for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular—participants will receive top-tier instruction from a faculty of professional dancers from diverse backgrounds in the dance industry. This immersive experience will elevate dancers’ technique, artistry, and performance quality, setting them up for success in their fall dance classes and beyond.

What to Expect:

  • Daily Training: Each day begins with a ballet class, followed by jazz or modern. The afternoons are dedicated to precision dance, focusing on choreography, formations, and the fundamental techniques of this specialized dance form.

  • Exclusive Audition Opportunity: Dancers have the chance to audition for The Carolina Snowbelles, a Boone-based precision dance company. This prestigious, 100% scholarship program offers weekly training and culminates in the annual holiday production, A Carolina Snowbelle Christmas, held at the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country.

  • Student Showcase: Dancers will have the opportunity to perform solos or group pieces in a special student showcase, where family and friends can celebrate their progress.

  • Adventure Beyond the Studio: The intensive also includes a scenic hiking trip in the Appalachian Mountains, allowing dancers to connect with nature and take in the breathtaking views.
